It’s the time of year when everyone is spending their weekends rushing around with Christmas shopping and preparing for the holiday season…
But with a fresh layer of snow on the ground and mild temperatures and sunshine in the forecast, it may be extremely tempting to skip the shopping and head out for a relaxing weekend at the lake.
Well, this weekend you can do both. Yep, that’s right; holiday shopping at the lake!
The second annual Whiteshell Community Club Christmas Craft and Gift Bazaar is set for this Saturday, December 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the South Whiteshell Community Club in Falcon Lake.
Pick up unique and handmade gifts without the commotion of the stores and feel great about supporting local artist and consultants. Refreshments will be available.
The Festive Cake Walk was a huge success last year raising $202 for the community club. This year there will also be an auction part to the bazaar. For any bakers out there that don’t know what the Festive Cake walk is, it’s a game much like musical chairs, only without the chairs. People pay to join in the game and one of the delicious cakes is the prize. Worth playing? Yep.
This year at the Christmas Craft and Gift Bazaar, there will also be pictures with Santa Claus. Children/adults can come and have their picture taken with Santa Claus, a digital picture will be emailed to you and you will be able to obtain as many copies as you require, all for only $10.
The students from the Falcon Beach School will have a craft and baking table setup, where they will be selling Sobeys’ cards as well. The school will also be collecting non-perishable food items for the tin bin and toys for a Toy Mountain. Remember, the Christmas season is first and foremost a season of giving!
