Paint Nights are back and are so much fun! Chrissy will guide you as you recreate your own masterpiece, step-by-step. These nights are a fun way to try something new, meet new friends and enjoy some healthy creative fun.

If these dates don’t fit into your schedule you can always book a private or group yoga session at your cabin as well as private paint parties. South Moon hosts private retreats in studio or at your cabin as well. Customize your summer fun to suit your needs!

South Moon Studio is also hosting an informative and holistic workshop with Kalee Mund on July 16th. Decoding Ayurveda & The Doshas is a great opportunity to learn the ancient science of Ayurveda and make your own special tea blend that will support your specific health needs.

Laura Reeves of Prairie Shore Botanicals is back for the Family Foraging Day. This
workshop is filled with activities to sharpen your wilderness and plant identification skills. We will be exploring fire and shelter building, awareness games, how to boil water with a rock and so much more!

High Lake Hockey

Although the snow is taking its time getting here, delaying certain winter sports like snowmobiling and cross-country skiing, there are still plenty of opportunities to have a blast in the Whiteshell. And that’s just what the folks down at Falcon Trails Resort got up to this past week.

A calm freeze on High Lake made for perfectly smooth skating conditions. Here’s a little video by Daniel Peloquin-Hopfner and some photos taken by Emily Christie:

Remember: Ice is good in most shallow lakes, but remember to test the ice before venturing out! Safety first! 🙂

Also, snow is on the way!

Whiteshell Christmas Craft and Gift Bazaar

It’s the time of year when everyone is spending their weekends rushing around with Christmas shopping and preparing for the holiday season…

But with a fresh layer of snow on the ground and mild temperatures and sunshine in the forecast, it may be extremely tempting to skip the shopping and head out for a relaxing weekend at the lake.

Well, this weekend you can do both. Yep, that’s right; holiday shopping at the lake! Continue reading

A walk down the Whiteshell Memory Lane…

Little walk down Memory Lane, anyone?

Many of the original cottages in the Falcon and West Hawk Lake area were built in the 1940s, and are still owned by the members of the original family today.

Here’s a series of photos that may give some of those families a flashback to the good ol’ days at West Hawk Lake, Falcon Lake, Caddy Lake, and Star Lake. If you’re new to the Whiteshell or just enjoy day tripping, check out how things have changed throughout the years!

One thing has stayed the same, though: The Whiteshell Provincial Park is arguably still the most beautiful place in Manitoba.

Please feel to share your Whiteshell memories in the comments section! Have some vintage shots of your own from the Whiteshell? Send them to us at whiteshell.lakes@gmail.com.
